  1. Enhanced leaderboard functions

    I've been using the Corona Cloud Leaderboards on my current game and I'm really struggling with the lack of options I have using it.

    I've seen people request an option to retrieve only the players' Facebook friends scores once the Leaderboards are requested, and although I think this would be absolutely amazing, the first thing it's lacking for me is a way to actually display the current rank of the player using his ID. It really seems something simple to be added and would be enough for my current project.

    It really seems that there are missing some key features…

  2. updateScrollableArea to ScrollView

    Would be nice if we could force the scroll area to re-evaluate it scrollable area after moving objects around inside.

    For instance, setting and object to nil and then calling could shrink the area if the item was at the bottom. Moving an item lower than the lowest item previous was could re-evaluate as if a new item was inserted.

    At the moment, you have to add a dummy object to extend a scroll area, and you cannot shrink it once extended.

    mms to piggyback on the sms already offered by Corona...

  4. Add support for embedded Google Maps in iOS devices

    Today, the native.newMapView() open the default map of the system. So, in iOS devices, it opens the Apple Maps.

  5. "official" OOP implementation

    I am aware that there are many lua OOP frameworks, but we believe that CoronaSDK should have its own OOP implementation.
    this will
    1- remove the hassle of choosing and implementing OOP lib
    2- allow the community to have the same base code so it is easy to share code and libraries
    3- make it easy to manage memory

    I admit the storyboard had solved some parts of the problem but we need more

    no more spaghetti code

  6. transition.to speed

    The title says most of it! Instead of having the object move to the coordinates by time it can be by speed! I was just fooling around with the "Tiny Game Tutorial" on youtube and there is a large problem of the player moving where i touch slowly if i press it near the player. This new feature would just be a simple parameter that would maybe be calculated by the object moving a X amount of pixels per second.

  7. Simplify "Business App" Data Entry/View

    Consolidate usage of widgets into simple dialogs to make data entry/viewing more straightforward.
    I'm envisaging something similar to IupGetParam (Just search for it)

    I think this would strengthen corona's move towards supporting "business apps".

    Needs to include:
    textfield input
    widgets
    automatic positioning of widgets/textfields/labels
    if more widgets than will fit in one screen then scroll
    OK/Cancel

    If also integrated with sqlite handling then would make editing of a database record doable very simply indeed.

  9. Global pause or slowdown feature for physics, timers, and transitions

    Implementing a pause feature in a game is a lot harder than people realize, especially with so many things going off in a game at the same time. Being able to hook that into a "time scale" property than make the game play in slow motion or even stop completely would save a developer a lot of work trying to pause every object and its effects individually.

  10. Have your Corona app listed in iOS' Settings panel to change flags or perform certain tasks outside the app.

    Notice how some apps show up in the Settings applet in iOS? They allow you to flick on and off certain features that affect the app when you run it. Having a spot among the other iPhone apps listed in there and providing flags that you can toggle, all in a conforming matter, would be a nice add to an app or game.

  11. Boolean property for automatic masking on a display object/spritesheet object

    It would be a huge help to many of us and also improve performance, file sizes, etc of you could build into Corona the following ability:

    A simple boolean property to enable or disable automatic masking for a display object or item from a sprite sheet.

    The API would automatically calculate that if the png has transparent areas, those areas should be masked out (not seen OR avail for touch/tap/etc), and any areas not 100% transparent (alpha 0) are show and available for touch/tap, etc in only that area.

  12. Ability to get manufacturer & brand from Android devices

    Ability to get manufacturer & brand from Android devices via system.getInfo(...).

    Basically, expose android.os.Build.MANUFACTURER and android.os.Build.BRAND in the same way you have exposed Build.MODEL.

  13. Events fired with dispatchEvent() to filter down display hierarchy

    Firing an event (for example, touch or tap) with dispatchEvent() does not filter down through the display hierarchy. While the current functionality is fine for non-touch related events, it is a problem to be prevented from "faking" real touch events.

  14. Android App Widgets (for Home screen)

    App Widgets are miniature application views that can be embedded in other applications (such as the Home screen) and receive periodic updates.

    This would allow to develop business applications.

  15. Anti-aliasing

    Looking at the guides the anitaliasing key in the config.lua files has been deprecated. Part of the reason for this is that AA isn't needed on high dpi screens, but it does still make a huge difference on pre-retina iPad displays. Could this be formally supported again?

  17. Isometric engine

    It's currently very difficult to quickly and reliably build an isometric grid. And given its popularity in games these days, it would be fantastic if Corona could support this. Or at least make it easier to do.

  18. Support Audiobus

    Copy paste audio etc to Audiobus will allow integration with other audio apps. This is becoming a standard feature in audio apps.

  19. Slide View controller with small dots as indicators

    and it should be linkable to storyboard so that the users can swipe left or right to move between scenes, and I suggest that the normal behaviour of this Slide view controller should have the ability preload the next and prevues storyboard scenes

  20. Simulator multitouch events support

    support multitouches by holding alt/option like iOS Simulator. Because its very hard to publish and install to device when debuging.
