Support Use of "Multiple APK Support" on Google Play
For reasons similar to expansion files, Multiple APK Support allows large apps another way to consider publishing an app when the app is over 50mb due to issues that arise from bundling multiple assets for all supported devices (e.g., one density/resolution for tablets and another for smartphones). In the feature, they also provide examples such as API level, CPU architecture, and GL texture compression format, but the more common case (especially for Corona users) is the screen density and resolution.
For users with a good IDE that can be configured to "build" various project configurations, all we would really need is support for the related android manifest entries so we don't have to hand hack the APK files. It would be even better yet if there was a "Corona Style" solution to this common problem (extra bloat just because of multiple resolution support).
For the record, expansion files don't really cover this feature well. First of all, it requires the INTERNET permission even if the app doesn't require it. Some users are sensitive to that. The other problem is that the app still ends up downloading (and occupying space) for assets it will never use on that device. For example, tablet resolution assets on a resource challenged smartphone.
